Ed Dunkel recognized a need for a safe and comfortable home-like environment for seniors while providing care for his parents Ethel Dunkel and the late- Darmon Dunkel, long time farmers in the Old Sunnyside area a couple of miles east of Belmont Country Club. With an appreciation of the agricultural heritage of the area and calling upon his 40 years of engineering expertise, Ed built upon his concept Grace Gardens, which sits upon land the has been in the Dunkel Family since 1940.
